The Oakhurst Democratic Club thrives in a predominantly conservative community. We thrive because we share common values and a clear vision of a better future. We thrive because we believe, as President John F Kennedy said in a speech to the Canadian Parliament in 1961, “What unites us is far greater than what divides us.”
Our primary goals are:
- Promoting awareness of Democratic Party initiatives;
- Partnering with other clubs in outreach, fund-raising and social events;
- Supporting local and national candidates;
- Increasing our membership;
- Developing a dialog with people who hold different viewpoints.
